Observations

So my blog has been silent. I've had some stuff going on that I just haven't wanted to blog about and because I tend to be such an open book normally, I figured silence was the safest route to take. I really hate to say this because I never wish time away but October hasn't even begun and I'm ready for it to be over. I hope to blog more often but can't make any promises for another couple of weeks until some things blow over. Don't you hate it when people leave cryptic messages on their blogs or Facebook? (I realize I just commited this crime)

And since this post needs a little fun, other things I have observed on Facebook lately that I'm not so much a fan of:

"liking" your own status - I have a friend who posts a status update and then immediately hits "like". It's your status! Of course you like it!

Black curtains with hot pink banding and zebra trim - no offense if you think this sounds cute but I'm not a fan. (and yes, one of my FB friends just made some of these)

Gross food pictures on FB. I realize that what I think is gross is someone else's dinner but big hunks of fatty meat do not make a pretty picture and are certainly not worth sharing. Eww.

Burning Up

Last night I rushed home to get dinner in the oven before Uncommon Husband arrived with baby girl. As I ran around the kitchen trying to get everything ready, I kept noticing a funny smell. I was standing at the stove when suddenly "DONUTS!!!"

There was a box of Dunkin Donuts in the oven ... that I was preheating. My mom used to always store baked goods in a (cold) oven overnight and I seem to have picked up that habit. Except that I tend to forget about those baked goods (this is not the first time this has happened). When Uncommon Husband walked through the front door I said "Yes, the house smells funny, and yes, I burned up the donuts." At least I can laugh at myself!

It's Been Awhile

It's been awhile since blogged and I've missed it but it's also been good to step away. Last week was busy and I was grumpy which = no blogging. After driving for 7 hours home last Tuesday, I got in only turn around immediately and head out to a photo shoot (I'm a sucker and can't say no sometimes). Then I jumped into a very busy week at work and because we had been out of town, my house was a disaster all week. Not to mention I was kind of a grouch all week. It was one of those times that you know you're being a grump but just can't help it. So, I decided that since I didn't have anything nice to say, I wouldn't say anything at all. But I think it's safe to come out now so here I am! I almost relapsed yesterday when Crazy Betty swooped (that's what we call it when someone comes over unannounced) and proceeded to look at my laundry and tell me it was wrinkled and "that other baby in Addison's class never has a wrinkle in her dresses". How does she know exactly how to push my buttons? She's lucky she's an old lady and I love her, otherwise I might not have been able to refrain from commenting back.

Twinkle Twinkle

We are enjoying spending this long weekend with family. Addison is practicing her new found walking skills and being spoiled every step of the way. I swear she's the happiest baby ever, her eyes twinkle all of the time!
